Recovery Truck Crashes at Langbank Roundabout
Earlier this month, a recovery truck operated by a Glasgow-based company, lost control while negotiating the roundabout, went through the central reservation barriers, struck a westbound car and then kept going through the barriers on the westbound verge.
It is understood the car driver was detained in hospital for observation after receiving stitches for a head wound. Langbank Community Council has tried to learn the content of the police report into the accident, but without success to date.
Safety on the roundabout has been a major concern for many years. Armed with a strongly-supported petition, LCC representatives met with road authorities Transport Scotland and Transerve Scotland earlier this year in an effort to secure measures to enhance the safety of all roundabout users. LCC has yet to be advised of what safety measures may be put in place.
