"No plans" to reduce rail service from Langbank
Transport Scotland have confirmed to Langbank Community Council that at present there are "no plans" to reduce services to Langbank station following local concerns raised at a recent community council meeting.
A spokesperson for Transport Scotland, who are responsible for railway operational matters, also added;
"The frequency of services increased following changes to the May 2014 timetable; with up to four trains an hour operating between Glasgow and Gourock in both directions during the inter-peak period and an early morning service between Weymss Bay and Glasgow Central.
All of these services call at Paisley Gilmour Street, enhancing connectivity with ferry sailings from Gourock, and between Renfrew and stations on the route between Glasgow and Gourock.
ScotRail and Network Rail meet regularly with Transport Scotland on operational and timetable matters; and at any future opportunity when we develop changes for the Inverclyde area services, Langbank’s passenger demand expectations will be considered."
