LANGBANK VILLAGE COMMUNITY COUNCIL.

MINUTES OF MEETING – 8th November 2017

7:30pm – 9.30pm in Langbank Church Hall

Members Present:   Gloria Dunn, Graeme Brown, James Hunter, Joe McGarrigle, Deirdre MacLean, Janice Buchanan, Jacqueline Docherty, Julie Gilmour, Cllrs James Maclaren and Colin McCulloch.

Apologises given:  Jayne Lasley, Russell Overend, Carly Deheer, Alex Dunn, Catherine Farrington and Police Scotland.

Approval of previous AGM Meeting Minutes (held on 9/11/2016)

Proposed by Gloria Dunn and Seconded by James Hunter. 

Agreed:  To note the minutes of the previous AGM.

Former Chairman’s remarks:

The past chairman thanked every LCC member for their continuing support and contributions in running and managing the Langbank Community Council (LCC).

He stated that as Renfrewshire Council finances were tight and had promised to get tighter then it was vital that a strong and robust CC was necessary to support and plead the case for rural CCs in order that those council taxpayers were not over looked.

He then encapsulated the work achieved/prompted by the CC, which included the ongoing focus on the A8 roundabout, the much needed road surfacing, and the work performed by villagers on our summer flower tubs on Main Road and the annual Clean-Up day, both of the latter do so much to make our village a nicer place to live.    The annual Christmas Fayre and Christmas Tree switch-on will be held on the 1st of December starting at 8.15pm.

He further stated that it would be wrong of him not to mention the contribution and efforts of many villagers who are not on the Community Council, but who help and assist in many other ways to help the village. We are indeed very grateful for their help.

He closed his remarks by wishing to thank the out-going LCC Secretary, Russell Overend, for all his work and support over the last few years. His efforts have been gratefully appreciated by the members and indeed by the past chairman.

Annual Accounts and Treasurers Report:

The 2016-17 Annual Accounts had been recorded and managed by Gloria Dunn (Treasurer) to whom the LCC expressed their sincere thanks for a very efficient job well done.  These accounts had been independently examined and signed off. A copy of these accounts had been already distributed to each member and were further read out and explained at the meeting.

Agreed:  To approve the annual accounts for 2016 – 17 as presented.

Appointment of Office Bearers for 2017 – 2018

Chairman:            Neil Barrington           -  sole nomination   - elected unopposed

Vice- Chairman:  Joe McGarrigle           -   sole nomination  -  elected unopposed

Secretary:           Jacqueline Docherty  -   sole nomination   -  elected unopposed

Treasurer:           Gloria Dunn                 -   sole nomination  -  elected unopposed

As there was no further business the new chairman closed the meeting at 8.00pm.
